Organ Re-dedication Concert Held at First Lutheran Church
A public re-dedication concert by Dr. Davis Folkerts was recently performed on the beautiful organ at First Lutheran Church. Over the summer the instrument was rebuilt and refurbished by Obermeyer Organ Company of Burnsville, Minnesota. This was made possible through the generous gifts of the Fred Maytag Family Foundation, the Matt and Diane Egenes Family, and gifts made through the years to the organ fund. The choir, with members of other churches in Newton joining in, performed two selections as part of the event. It was followed by a nice reception in Fellowship Hall featuring coffee, punch, cupcakes, and mixed nuts. Those in attendance were treated to a wonderful afternoon.
