A few words about our Church.
Welcome to First Lutheran, in Newton, Iowa. We're part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and the Southeastern Iowa Synod. Our ELCA's mission statement also puts First Lutheran's mission into plain and joyful language: "God's Work, Our Hands." We invite you to come and see what Christ's love is doing in and through us.
We hope that you will find Christ's community and peace here, with a sprinkling of excitement in mission. Please enjoy looking through First Lutheran's information on this site. And when you can, come and worship with us! I believe that you'll hear and see the Good News of Christ.
